Allgemeine Anwendung

Missed dose
        If you missed a dose take it as soon as you remember. If you take Suprax once daily take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Next dose should be taken in 10-12 hours. If it was prescribed to you to take this medication twice or thrice daily take the missed dose and then the next one in 5-6 or 2-4 hours accordingly. Never double dose this medication.
Overdose

It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that destroys bacteria. It is active against many aerobic (those developing in the presence of oxygen) and anaerobic (those developing in the absence of oxygen) gram-positive and aerobic gram-negative microorganisms, including strains that produce beta-lactamase (the enzyme that destroys penicillin). Clavulanate potassium, comprised in the content of this medication, provides resistance of Augmentin to the activity of bacterial beta-lactamases. This medication is used to treat pneumonia and other infectious diseases of the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital systems, infections which appear after surgery, and others.

Dosage and Directions

Doses are administered individually depending on your condition, localization of infection, and susceptibility of the pathogen. Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Swallow the whole tablet. If it is the Augmentin Chewable tablet, then chew it before swallowing. Augmentin should be taken at evenly spaced intervals.

Precautions

Do not use if you are allergic to any other penicillin antibiotic, have liver or kidney failure, or mononucleosis.

Contraindications

Probenecid, which is used to treat gout, may slow the excretion of Augmentin by the kidneys and result in an increase in its toxicity.

Ampicillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminopenicillin group. Its mechanism of action is anti-bacterial and consists in the inhibition of construction of bacteria cell walls sensitive to Ampicillin. It is not destroyed in the acidic content of the stomach and is easily absorbed. Ampicillin is active against gram-positive microorganisms and also some gram-negative ones (such as salmonella, shigella, proteus, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae, formerly called Pfeiffer’s bacillus) and is used for the treatment of diseases caused by mixed bacteria. Microorganisms producing penicillinase are resistant to Ampicillin. This medication is used to treat pneumonia and other infectious diseases of the respiratory, urogenital, and gastrointestinal systems.

Dosage and Directions

Take exactly as prescribed. Ampicillin capsules should be taken with a full glass of water, a half-hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

Precautions

Amoxil is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminopenicillin group.         Cleocin kills sensitive bacteria by stopping the production of essential bacterial proteins after binding a bacterial ribosome. Cleocin is close by its qualities to Lincomycin. Lincosamides are usually used to treat staphylococci and streptococci.
